Welcome to the homepage of the traveler!!

Over the past 7.5 years I have been able to do some traveling. There are some people who have traveled way more than I; but I have been to, (in my opinion) several countries within this last 7.5 years. I have had the privilege to go to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Costa Rica (twice), Nicaragua, Nepal, India, Guatemala, and Canada, Jordan, Israel, Thailand (very short time), S. Korea (very short time), and of course, the U.S.A.

Anyways, as time goes on, I will attempt to be putting up more and more stuff on this blog. Enjoy what I have so far!!!

The Traveler

HAKANI!!

This blog is a little different. Its a more serious blog. I just want who ever reads this to know some of the things that are happening in the Amazon of Brazil. There are many indigenous tribes that are there, who practice infanticide, (For those who don't know infanticide is, is the murdering of infants, and in some cases older children). What I am trying to communicate to you today is that in many places in the Amazon there are people who are killing unwanted children either because they are a twin, triplet, crippled, diseased, or whatever else. What they are doing is burying the children alive. Now the big issue is that the Government is wanting to deny the rights and the life of these kids. They are more into a "better economy", than to saving lives.

Here is a quote that was said by Francisco Praciano (PT-AM)- "Forgive me, the Declaration of Human Rights does not apply to the Indians. The constitution does not apply to the Indians." Now for me to hear and read that made me cringe. How can some say that.

The point of this blog, is just to bring awareness, that there are many things that are happening around the world that many people don't know about; and that often times get overlooked by big news people and other forms of todays media. I would encourage you to visit the website, and there you will learn a lot more of what I am talking about. And please, tell people about this issue, lets do something about this.
