Welcome to the homepage of the traveler!!

Over the past 7.5 years I have been able to do some traveling. There are some people who have traveled way more than I; but I have been to, (in my opinion) several countries within this last 7.5 years. I have had the privilege to go to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Costa Rica (twice), Nicaragua, Nepal, India, Guatemala, and Canada, Jordan, Israel, Thailand (very short time), S. Korea (very short time), and of course, the U.S.A.

Anyways, as time goes on, I will attempt to be putting up more and more stuff on this blog. Enjoy what I have so far!!!

The Closing of a Chapter

For the last 3 months I have had the privilege to be the department leader of the housekeeping department. I have been challenged in many different areas of my leadership and have grown a lot.
tThere are a few things that I was able to start and change while the department leader. One of the things that I accomplished was getting the base to recycle. In addition to recycling, I am in the process of  changing over all of the chemicals we use in order to save the department money.
Something that God has shown me during this last quarter, is that when He leads me into something different that is more challenging, he will be right there with me to guide me through the steps that I need to take in order to accomplish what needs to be done.
I have had the privilege to be able to work alongside 19 students and two staff, all of whom did a wonderful job at cleaning. As a result of their hard work, and God's help in guiding them, leaders of the base have been impressed with how clean things have been and how nice everything smells.
There have been some challenges. Something I noticed early on was that when you work with so many different people, you have that many different opinions on how things should be done. Still, as the leader  you are to listen to their opinions and value them, but sometimes play the "leadership" card by making the final decision. At times that is difficult.
I am glad that I was able to lead this department and begin new things, and I hope and pray that everything will continue when I am gone. I thank the Lord that He has challenged me even more in the area of leading.

A follow up and a request!!

Hey everyone,

I hope all of you are doing well, and that God is revealing more of his incredible kindness to you every day.
I mentioned in my latest news letter that I have been invited to go and be apart of the Foundations in Community Development staff in Kona, Hawaii, for a season.   I am excited and honored to be asked to be a part of the team.  Things are beginning to come together and I am making preparations to go.

I am requested to be there by the 28th of Dec. THAT IS ONLY 6 1/2 WEEKS AWAY! And to be honest I need more financial support to get there, mainly money to buy a plane ticket.  I have been looking at prices for plane tickets, and they are anywhere from $600 - $800.   I would like to invite you to be a part of this adventure God has me on, in bringing more of the kingdom of heaven here on this earth.  Will you consider either a one time financial gift or becoming a monthly supporter, even if it is just $1 a day ($30 dollars a month), that would help out tremendously.

If you would like to give a one time gift, or become a monthly supporter you can
1. send a check to:

    YWAM
    501 Blacktail Rd.
    Lakeside, Mt 59922

2. And in the memo line write the numbers 3459-      (That is my project number)
[If you send a check here you are then able to take the gift off on your taxes.]
3.
The money that is sent is then processed through our accounting department, and then the entire amount is deposited into my bank account.

ANOTHER- way you can support is by either sending a check to me directly- made out to me- however this will not be able to be taken off on your taxes
OR-  you can go to my blog, cubeinsky.blogspot.com and follow the instructions that are given at the bottom of the site, if you would like to donate money via "Paypal".

Yes I understand this is a very bold e-mail, but I feel strongly that God is asking me to be apart of this school in Kona.  I am also aware that times are hard financially for many people, and that this request seems daunting, but I also understand that "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and all it contains." - Ps. 24.  And I also understand that this is not just a "Matt only job", but it truly does require a team effort, and I am asking if you would be willing to join the team.

If you would like find out more information about the YWAM, University of the Nations campus, I have attached a link that takes you to their site.  Enjoy.... uofnkona.edu
Following is another link that takes you to the page specifically discussing the FCD school it is as follows:

KONA HAWAII !!! FCD!

KONA BOUND!!

I am planning on going to Kona Hawaii on or around Dec. 27. The purpose for me going to Kona is to be a part of the staff for the Foundations in Community Development school (FCD). I have been invited by the school leader to come and be a part of the staff. I am also planning on working on a resources website page for the Community Development Center (globally). This would be a website that provides many different resources on many different topics, to the leaders, students, and others involved with the FCD school worldwide. My plan is to be there from Dec. 27 - April 11.

I am so excited to see what God is going to do while I am there. I believe that my time there will greatly increase my vision in some ways, and in other ways narrow and solidify things that God has been speaking to me for a while now. I believe that my time in Kona Hawaii will be an important time for me to network with other and make key connections for my future ministry.

Along with this trip, this also requires a need for financial  increase as I have to pay double, what I pay now. I would ask that you consider and see if you are able to become a monthly financial supporter and or give a one time gift.  If you would like to contribute to this exciting new phase in my life, you can click on the "paypal" link and pay that way or you can follow the instructions at the very bottom of this blog.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me and ask.

Blessings as you live out your life!!

My Vision-New Phase

Over the past 5 years, I have been working with different Foundations in Community Development schools, I have realized many things. One thing that I have seen is that people are hungry and wanting to see change take place in their lives. Something else that I have seen, as I have staffed several schools, is that in some of the developing countries where they are running FCD schools, they are lacking resources of all kinds. Over the past 3-4 years a passion in me to see schools strengthened has been increasing. My desire for these schools, whether new or old; is to see them reach their fullest potential, and to be able to have adequate resources available to them. A vision that has been growing in me over a few years now, is to see if there can be an "International FCD resource" website that can be launched. This website would be used to provide many different resources, on many different topics, in many different languages. This website would serve the school leaders, staff, students and even locals; in a way that would strengthen their confidence in teaching and also provide them with an adequate amount of material.

School of Biblical Studies

As many of you know, I have for the past 8 months been in this school, which is an intense 9 month school, where students come and study the Bible INDUCTIVELY.

The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) is a nine-month course in which students study all 66 books of the Bible. An inductive approach is taught, in which students observe what the text says and then let it shape their beliefs.

this school is almost over... It has been a very long marathon, but at the very same time throughout the whole time it has been the most or one of the most incredible journeys I have every been on. It has been incredible for me to see how much God is in control and how much he is Just, but at the same time how incredibly merciful he is. Something else that has been interesting for me to see as I have studied through the Bible, is how intricately woven this Bible is within itself (every thing is connected some how and it does not conflict with in itself.) It has also been amazing to see God's redemptive plan for mankind throughout the entire book, in every book...GO GOD!!
